Page of Wands

“The Pages represent the quality of the each suit in its simplest state, enjoying itself for itself in a lighter, more youthful way than the mature Queen” (Pollack, 2019, p. 169). The Pages hold the qualities of wonder, innocence, and youth and invite the querent to question “What lights me up?” (Dore, 2021). There are symbols within this card that are similar to those found in the King of Wands including the salamander, the creature that can inhabit fire, and the desert, reminding the us that fire can destroy if not well directed. This card is an invitation to listen closely to what is energizing and captivating, to me! Recently, I was introduced to the 9 habits of Stoics. One of those habits reminded me of the question, “what I am giving my energy to?” The Page of Wands is the keeper of the spark that lives inside of us. When I give my energy to ideas, things, or people that do not serve to keep that spark alive, I turn away from that light. The Page of Wands asks me, “how am I directing my energy toward the ideas, things, or people that captivate and energize me?” “How do I conserve my energy for the things in life that are important to me?” “Where in my life am I giving too much of my energy to the things that are not important to me?”
